Prior authorization assistance
Our support team ensures patients get their medications as quickly as possible by leveraging the electronic prior authorization platform CoverMyMeds® to automate PA requests. And, if you complete a broad authorization form, our team will complete and submit the PA to the plan on your behalf.*
Digital solutions
The Optum Specialty Pharmacy provider portal is a secure, web-based pharmacy portal that gives you access to detailed patient information that makes it easier to prescribe specialty medications. The average wait time is 23 seconds to connect with us via chat in our provider portal.1
Financial assistance
Optum Savings IQ® connects patients with resources – foundation assistance, grants and copay cards – to help them pay for their therapy. Our financial assistance team helped save patients $832.4 million in 2024.2
Adherence support
We provide tools, including a text adherence program and Optum® Schedule My Fill, to help your patients follow their care plan. Patients enrolled in the Schedule My Fill program experienced 100% access to medications to cover days on therapy.3
Dedicated support team
Our team of patient care coordinators perform welcome calls, offer benefits checks and test claims and provide prior authorization and appeals support to enhance turnaround times, while our clinicians conduct first-fill consults and ongoing assessments to educate patients and increase adherence.

Our provider and patient portals provide secure web-based anytime access to important healthcare information. Our patient portal and app make it easy for your patients to manage their condition anytime, anywhere. They can request refills, track orders, make payments, access live chat, and view or update account information.
Technology-enabled adherence programs, including a text adherence program and Optum® Schedule My Fill, help your patients follow their care plan to improve patient outcomes. The average adherence rate is 89% for cardiopulmonary patients.
Optum Savings IQ® enables our frontline teams to connect patients with available financial resources to help pay for their medication without them having to ask. This includes filling out the forms your practice needs to help speed up the process.
