Optum Care is paying us better to spend time with patients, I can see less patients in a day and still make a decent income. More time with the patient equals better patient satisfaction. And in many cases, it's better disease outcome.

I can sit down with them and really dig a little deeper into their problems. I'm just getting to know them better. And that's what makes patients happy. Patients do enjoy a doctor who is treating them competently, but it's more important that they feel close and they feel open and they feel like they know me well enough to tell me anything. Some days you're exactly the doctor you want to be and you feel like a superhero and other days you feel like you missed the mark a little bit.

But having the support of Optum Care has been really beneficial in making sure that the majority of those days are a little closer to the superhero days.
