Transforming CDI and coding with advanced analytics

Banner Health partnered with Optum to pair AI-powered technology with advanced analytics, enabling an expanded focus on quality and risk-adjustment initiatives.

Transitioning to AI-powered CDI and coding technology with advanced analytics empowered Banner Health

Banner Health chose Optum® Enterprise CAC and CDI 3D, along with Audit and Compliance Manager, for the patented Clinical Language Intelligence™ (CLI) and analytics that allow clinical and coded data to be analyzed in real time. This technology identifies potential documentation improvement opportunities, automates query markers, and suggests codes to improve coding accuracy for each case.

Banner Health invested in AI-powered CDI and coding technology with advanced analytics to “tell their story accurately,” according to Jessica Risner, senior director for CDI and clinical denials. “Optum as a strategic partner is more than just a buzzword to us. They sit with us, they review our data, they really listen to what we’re trying to achieve,” said Risner.
